Sonu Nigam's tweet on ' Azaan' and ' Forced Religiousness' on Monday stirred a huge controversy in the country.

Sonu Nigam clarifies his ‘Azaan’ and ‘forced religiousness’ tweets!

Sonu Nigam clarifies on his tweet on ' Azaan' and the ' forced religiousness' that has created a stir and a huge controversy in the country.   While some understood his message and took it well there was another sect of people who misunderstood his tweet completely and portrayed it as highly insensitive on his part.

Yesterday evening Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi the vice president of West Bengal Minority United Council in his message stated that if anyone can shave his hair and put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and tour him around the country, I personally announce an award of Rs 10 lakhs to that person".

Sonu Nigam took this comment in his stride and tweeted,  Today at 2 am Aalim will come to my place and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready.

The Bollywood singer held a press conference at his residence post this tweet to clear his stand and told the media that he had not targetted any particular religion , and he had not meant to degrade any religious practice or create a controversy. He spoke to the media that he was clear that , 'Azaan' or ' Bhajans should happen and are important but not on a loudspeaker. That too at the wee hours of the day.  Stated that he wanted people have to be considerate in the end and understand the bigger picture instead of getting into any controversies.

About his challenge to Maulvi he said he was not challenging him and just interpreting the ' Fatwa' issued against him in a very subtle manner.

Being a celebrity , it also has its own burdens and the smallest of small statement is blown out of proportion and end up in a debate of national interest. Sonu Nigam who has lent his voice in several Bollywood films and is an established singer considers Mohd Rafi his guru.   He expressed his sentiments at the Press Conference, that a simple statement that a loudspeaker for 'Azaan' is not required at wee hours , but still holds that ' Azaan' is important, would create such a upheaval as he personally has nothing against the Muslims. he considered Mohammad Rafi as his guru, his driver is am Muslim and he is not an anti-Muslim and considers himself as a Secular individual.

Sonu Nigam further shocked us all when he went ahead and shaved off his hair and proves once again that he keeps his promises.  His videos says it all.
