Abhishek Bachchan was born as the second child to Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and yesteryear actress Jaya Bachchan in Mumbai. Bachchan suffered from dyslexic syndrome in his childhood at an early stage. He attended the famous for Star kids school Jamnabai Narsee and Bombay Scottish School and Modern School in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, completing which he graduated from Aiglon College, Switzerland and also joined for Business studies in US but dropped it midway to pursue a career in Bollywood. Bachchan having grown up among the film industry always from his early days were in awe of the art and also developed his taste for cinema after frequent visits to film locations with his father which led him to discontinue his studies from Boston University midway.
Abhishek Bachchan is married to famous actress and former Miss world Aishwarya Rai. The couple had tied the knot in the year 2007 after a long time relationship while working together in movies and the couple has a five year old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in Bollywood in the war drama Refugee along with an ensemble star cast including Jackie Shroff and Sunil Shetty, and was paired opposite yet another debutant Kareena Kapoor in the year 2000. The movie panned out to be crucial from Bachchan’s perspective as it went on to garner him immense critical acclaim for his performance even though the movie could not gain any commercial success. Abhishek Bachchan paired with his wife to be Aiswarya Rai in J.P Dutta’s romantic drama Umrao Jaan which was one of the biggest washouts of the year. Abhishek Bachchan anyhow went on to end the year on a high note by reprising ACP. Jai Dixit from the from Dhoom in its sequel Dhoom 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai , which incidentally became Bollywood’s all time highest grossing film ever as of then and also secured garlands for all of its lead cast performances and elaborative action sequences. Career Best Performance in Guru (2007) Mani Ratnam cast Bachchan in Guru; the partial biopic of business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani , where he was placed opposite Aishwarya Rai. Drona too saw Bachchan in the lead, where he played a superhero called Drona although the movie panned out to be unsuccessful. Bachchan took up film production for the very first time in R Balki’sPaa; which ironically saw him being cast as the father of Amitabh Bachchan, who played a 12 year old boy who is suffering from the rare genetic condition called Progeria in the movie which dealt with a unusual father son relationship dynamic. Gradual setbacks ( later 2009 -2011) Abhishek Bachchan lost his momentum in the coming years with highly unsuccessful movie’s like Delhi-6, Game with a breather in the Hindi version of Mani Ratnam’s multilingual fictional adaptation of Ramayana; where he appeared as the counterpart of villian Ravanaa from the epic opposite Vikram and Aishwarya Rai, although he delivered an highly appreciated performance the movie could not pan out to a possible game changer for him. Most Recent films (2012 – present) Abhishek Bachchan made a worthwhile comeback in the year 2012 with the Ajay Devgn starrer entertainer Bol Bachchan which went on to be welcome hit for the actor since Paa in 2009. Dhoom 3; the third instalment of the Dhoom franchise saw Abhishek retaining his character from the previous two films, where he was cast opposite Aamir Khan in 2013 and in Farah Khan’s ShahRukh khan starrer Happy New Year in 2014, which saw him in a supporting comic role and finally in 2016 in Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 3, all of which were highest grosser of the respective years where Bachchan was seen mostly in supporting roles to the main lead.
