Salman Khan had hosted the game show Dus Ka Dam which aired on Sony TV. He has been hosting Bigg Boss since season 4 which is one of the highest trp rated shows. He has over 25000 followers on Social Media Considered as one of the biggest Actors of the Biggest Film Industry. Salman Khan is said to be an artist and loves painting occasionally. He is one of the few actors who has been photographed maximum and has his wax figures at Madame Tussauds. Salman has been mentor to many actors such as Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat. He motivated Arjun to lose weight in order to become an actor. He had recommended Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid Wajid for music production. He had casted Zarine Khan in the 2010 film, Veer and motivated her to lose weight for the role. He also mentored Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and Athiya Shetty,daughter of Suniel Shetty,also casted them in his production movie Hero. Salman is an Artist, A super Star and a Philanthropist and humanitarian. He has a non profit organisation called Being Human which works as a charity.
Salman khan was born on 27th December 1965 to the screenwriter Salim Khan and Sushila in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Salman’s paternal ancestors are Pathans immigrants from Afghanistan who moved to Indore where as his mother is a Maharashtrian and his maternal grandfather comes from Jammu and Kashmir and grandmother from Maharashtra. That is one of the reasons Salman Khan family celebrates Ganesh Chaturti in a big way as much as they celebrate Eid . They follow both these festivals with the same spirit. His step mother,Helen is a former actress and an incredible dancer. He has two younger brothers namely Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan who are also part of the Film Industry. The actress Malaika Arora Khan is his brother Arbaaz Khan’s wife. Salman also has two sisters,Alvira Khan who got married to the actor and director Atul Agnihotri and an adopted sister Arpita Khan. Salman received his schooling education from St. Stanislaus High School,Bandra,Mumbai. He also studied in The Scindia School,Gwalior for few years. He was in St. Xaviers College where later he dropped out to pursue his career in the filmline.
Salman currently lives in Galaxy apartments, Bandra. He also has 150 acre plot in Panvel which has 3 bungalows,swimming pool and a gym. Salman hasn’t married but he has been in a few serious relationships with actresses, Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif and Somy Ali. Salman was arrested on 28th September 2002 for a hit and run case where his car ran into a bakery in which a man sleeping at the pavement died and three other people were injured. The case is been running up in the court since then. In 2006, a case was filed by the Jodhpur court as Salman had hunted a Chinkara which is an endangered species. He was sentenced one year of imprisonment but the case is on in the courts.
Salman is referred as ‘The Tiger Of Bollywood’, ‘Blockbuster Khan’ and ‘Box Office King’ and also called bhaijaan or Sallu by his fans. Salman initially made his acting debut from the film Biwi ho Toh Aisi in 1988 but he rose to his stardom got fame from Sooraj Barjatya’s 1989 Maine Pyaar Kiya which was a superhit film. The movie has been dubbed in various languages too. He has appeared in Saajan with Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit which was a success. In 1994 he starred in the multi starrer movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun which was a major success at the Box office and is considered as one of the Top films of the Bollywood with worldwide reach. He then appeared in Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun along with Shahrukh Khan. In 1998,he was casted in romantic comedy Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai with Kajol and has acted in a cameo role in Karan Johar’s Kuch kuch Hota Hai and has won the award for best actor in supporting role. In 1999, he appeared in Biwi no. 1, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and all these films received Box office success. In 2000, he appeared in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. In 2002, he did Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam. His other films were Tere Naam 2003, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2004, No Entry 2005, Partner 2007. In 2009, he appeared in Wanted directed by Prabhu Deva which was a major box offiice success again. Khan achieved greater stardom in the 2010s by playing the lead role in several successful action films, including Dabangg(2010),Bodyguard(2011),Ek Tha Tiger(2012),Kick(2014),Bajrangi Bhaijaan(2015) and Sultan(2016) all rank among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time.
