Sonakshi Sinha is one of the most popular star phases of current day Hindi cinema. Sinha is the one of the few actresses in Bollywood in recent times with a large array of blockbuster hits in her name like Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore , Son of Sardaar and many more which itself is a rare feat for an actress. Sinha has fought her way up to the big league of Bollywood in just a handful of movies.

Cinema was a part of her upbringing and after completing her schooling from Arya Vidhya Mandir and went on to specialize in Fashion Designing from Sree Nathibhai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University which subsequent led to her entry in to cinema as a costume designer for films like Mera Dil Leke Dekkho in the 2005 which led to her acting debut in Bollywood in 2010 with Salman Khan’s Dabangg.
Aditya Shroff, the owner of Fame Cinemas is considered to be Sinha’s past boyfriend in real life which they ended after two year relationship.
Acting Debut and rise to prominence ( 2010- 2013) Sonakshi Sinha was cast as the female lead in Salman Khan’s action entertainer Dabangg , where she played “ Rajjo” a village girl befalls in love with Khan’s character “Chulbul Pandey “ during a police encounter. The mass movie saw Khan dominating the proceedings with his killer screen presence and epic one liners which still remain popular among the masses, despite which Sonakshi Sinha had a grand opening for her career as the movie panned out to be a one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema and also emerged as the top grosser of all time with positive reviews. Sonakshi Sinha underwent rigorous weight loss programmes to loose thirty kilo’s for the movie and her performance was cited to be refreshing and confident and also was seen sharing fabulous screen chemistry with Khan. She won the Filmfare Award and IIFA Award in Best Female Debut for the year. After a year’s break Sonakshi Sinha was next seen pairing with Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore, which incidentally too was an over the top commercial entertainer alike her debut. The Prabhu Deva directorial saw Sonakshi yet again playing second fiddle to the male lead and did not have nothing much to do than to look good on screen, but the movie turned to a blockbuster with highly contrasting reviews. Joker was Sonakshi Sinha’s next release, where she was seen again with Akshay Kumar. The movie was a flop and a rather forgettable outing for all names associated with it. After appearing in the song “Go Go Govinda” as herself in the acclaimed movie OMG Oh My God, Sinha repeated opting for mass entertainers by playing the female lead in Ajay Devgn’s ensemble comedy Son Of Sardar , which again saw her practically doing nothing and was panned by some critics for being constantly overshadowed by male counterparts in superstar ventures which never had anything in her for to showcase her acting expertize although many also saw her performances as satisfactory and refereed to it a s “guilty pleasure” watching her on screen. The movie had a great run at the box office although only with mixed reviews. Sinha then went on to reprise her role in the second instalment of Dabangg, and Dabangg 2 also turned out to be a huge money spinner as its predecessor. Alternate Career break in Lootera ( late 2013 ) Sinha after leading in an array of formulaic mass movies finally landed in a major role in Vikramaditya Motwane’s period romance movie Lootera, which saw her pairing with Ranveer Singh in the lead. The movie set in the 1950’s West Bengal, saw Sinha playing an aspiring writer who falls in love with a visiting stranger. The movie was a critical phenomenon at the time of release was also referred to one of the best movies of the year 2013 and Sinha was at last seen in meaty character that had ample scope for her to perform and got her exciting reviews from major critics. Subsequent releases ( 2013 - 2016) Sinha after playing a key role in the flop Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobara and doing a cameo appearance in the movie Boss in two songs. Saif Ali Khan’s action flick Bullet Raja and Shahi Kapoor’s R. Rajkumar all turned out to be her usual brand of cinema and were profitable outings. Akshay Kumar’s Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty which garnered mainly positive reviews and also was a super hit. After going through the motions in Ajay Devgn’s action movie Action Jackson, the year 2014 had her taking a detour to Tamil cinema with Superstar Rajnikanth’s action drama Lingaa. The movie had her pairing with Rajnikanth although it went on to underperform in contradiction to the huge hype it garnered pre-release. The year 2015 had her pairing with Arjun Kapoor for Tevar which had her pretty much carrying out her antics. A R Murugadoss joined hands with Sinha again in 2016 for the action drama Akira , the movie which propagated feministic themes had her coming up with a rather impressive performance as a bold girl and had Anurag Kashyap paly another key role. Sinha was last seen in Force 2. The second instalment of Force, the movie had a poor run. Sonakshi Sinha is slated to come up with the drama film Noor, where she will be seen as a Pakistani journalist, whose adventures and love life in the backdrop of Mumbai form the crux of the movie.
