Aditya Pancholi has also received the Filmfare nomination in Best Performance in a Negative Role for the movie Yes Boss in 1997. Aditya Pancholi, in his career spanning over 2 decades has established himself as one of the most sought after actors of Bollywood. He is considered to be one of the finest actors who rose to fame between the 80’s and 90’s. He has had the chance to work with legendary actors and directors in the course of his cinematic journey which has enabled him to portray almost all facets of acting in a matured way from his early days itself. Pancholi is one of the few actors who have had the chance to do all kinds of roles in his whole film career. He has also tried his hand in production and also sang songs for movies earlier on in his career like the hit number ‘Dhak Dhak Dhak‘in the movie Maha Sangram.

Aditya Pancholi was born in a Raebareli District to Hindi filmmaker Rajan Pancholi and Aruna Pancholi. Pancholi received his early education from St. Joseph’s High School in Juhu, Mumbai after which he got a lucky entry in to cinema in 1985 when he was spotted by a director for his dashing personality and handsome looks while travelling in a local train, leading to a contract for six video films for Hiba,a joint venture between Stardust magazine and Nari Hira.

Aditya Pancholi is married to famous actress Zarina Wahab and has two children, Sooraj Pancholi and Sana Pancholi. Pancholi has been reported to have been involved in a number of petty fights and arguments at various public places and for some of which has been punished severely.

Aditya Pancholi began his acting career in the less known Sasti Dulhan Mehnga Dulhah in the year 1986 after which he still continued doing other television movies like Maryam Ki Bheti ,Sone Ka Pinjra, Siya hi Abhishek and Khatarnaak Irade in the year 1987 which too made him well noted in the film circles by then. His characters in both these movies , be it the prodigal rich kid in Abhishek or the womanizer life guarding love of Khatarnaak Irade turned out to babysteps by the actor which was crucial for his steady ascent to lead roles in major Hindi productions The lead star phase (1988-96) Aditya Pancholi received his major breakthrough role in Dayavan directed by Firozh Khan which started his co-star union with Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit years before the same team joined for Maha Sangram in 1991 .The official remake of the cult classic Tamil Mani Ratnam film Nayakan where he reprised famous actor Nasser’s rolefrom the original , although a small role Pancholi was able to bring to the character a different tone thus ruling out comparison to the Tamil counterpart . Aditya Pancholi got his very first lead role as independent hero in 1988 through Kab Tak Chup Rahungi where he paired with Amala which got him the much awaited lead recognition even though the film went on bomb in the box office .Pancholi bounced back with Qatil , a crime thriller next opposite Sangeeta Bijlani where he appeared as a lawyer who questions the very basis of Death penalty imposed on convicts , by bringing in his own bits Pancholi made sure about the acceptability of the character but unfortunately the film shared the same fate as his previous outing in its reception. Although lacking in a major commercial hit until then Pancholi had made it known among the masses of his arrival with his refreshing charm. After the cold response for the romance Mohabat Ka Paigham, Aditya Pancholi tasted commercial success for the very first time in Maha Sangram helmed by Mukhul Anand with an ensemble star cast of Vinod Khanna, Govinda and Madhuri Dixit in the lead. Pancholi just stole the show with his poignant interpretation of the ‘angry young man’ which incidentally lead to positive word of mouth for the movie too making it a high grosser. Pancholi re surfaced next with the comedy Baap Numbri Beta Numbri in 1990 which was the biggest block buster in Aditya Pancholi’s career as of then which broke many records that year. Madhuri Dixit was seen pairing with Pancholi in Sailaab after their earlier association in Maha Sangram , though a disaster the songs of the movie had gained a huge fan following .Pancholi’s next major release saw him playing the antagonist for the very first time in Awwal Number , a sports thriller with Dev Anand and Aamir Khan in the lead . The year 1991 began for Pancholi with Naamcheen,Vishnu Dev , Shiv Raam all of which just went on to do silent business when Aditya Pancholi was cast by Mahesh Bhatt alongside Mohsin Khan in Saathi, the crime drama which created history for Aditya as it was his biggest blockbuster and it made him a regular presence in Bollywood, Suraj was a big turnaround Character in his pretty much uneventful career as of then which gave Pancholi the much needed stardom in a short time and is still Pancholi’s highest grosser ever. Akalya which boast of a huge star cast could not continue his good run. Post Saathi period (1992 onwards ) Aditya Pancholi could not repeat the awe inspiring success of Saathi in his next projects although he won many accolades for his performances in movie’s like Yaad Rakhegi Duniya which narrated an emotional touching love story between two dying people and Tahalka which did not help him much with his career at that point of time other though the movie did collect fairly well. After some more setbacks like Chor Aur Chaand and Game Pancholi landed in the green patch yet again in 1994 with Aatish: Feel the Fire, it got him back on winning ways after a lean phase. But the success was very much short lived as he came up with two big multi starrer’s in in 1995 like Suraksha and Ek Tha Raja which failed to influence his career growth. Jung opposite with director T Rama Rao was a huge relief as far as Pancholi’s career as his role of an innocent man who gets punished due to some misunderstandings showed again the traces of the brilliant actor that was still left unused at that time and it opened to high critical acclaim. Villain and support actor phase (1997-2004) Due to the highly inconsistent career graph Aditya Pancholi was forced to switch to negative and supporting roles,he was no longer cast in lead roles at that point with a string of flops to his name. His firstmajor recognitionwhich was long overdue came to him for the movie Yes Boss where he was cast against the young Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. He got Filmfare Award for his portrayal and the movie was a classy hit. Hamesha which came afterwards also was once again a flop . After taking a rather small gap for two years 1998 and 1999 he came back with in Sanjay Gupta’s Baaghi and with Jung which did him no good whatsoever. After playing a supporting role in one of the industrial hits of the year 2002 he joined hands with his frequent collaborator Sanjay Gupta in Musafir a mediocre attempt. The 2010’s Aditya Pancholi took a long time away from cinema only returning in the year 2010 with the movie Striker which also failed to leave a mark for him. 2010 onwards has been a pretty uneventful phase in Pancholi’s filmography as he has only gone about doing small character roles in movie like Rush ,Race 2 and Bajirao Mastani is the last movie where Pancholi was spotted in.
