Brijendra Kala spent his early childhood in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. His father worked in veterinary hospital.   Kala belongs to the Pauri Garhwal community of Uttarkhand.

Brijendra worked in theatre for more than seventeen years but he gained attention from the characters he portrayed in small roles in the main stream Cinema.

Kala known to be one of the scene stealers of Hindi Cinema, has appeared in character roles since 2003 until 2021.   His acting debut came much later but he had started with the Television Shows produced by Ekta Kapoor with a role in one of the most popular television soap….  Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki wherein he wrote the dialogues too.  

His first film was as newspaper vendor in Haasil in 2003 produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia.  Though he was popular for his face.

His memorable role as the shabbily dressed uncle in Rajat Kapoor’s film Ankhon Dekhi in 2013 had earned him praises.

Kala’s major breakthrough came with the film’ Pan Singh Tomar’ in 2012 wherein he plays the role of a reporter.  Both films were by Tigmanshu Dhulia directed films.

Besides Haasil in 2003, and some not so films that saw the limelight,  the popular films that Brijendra Kala acted in character roles were in Bunty Aur Babli in 2004,  Ahista Ahista in 2006, Jab We Met in 2007,  Aloo Chaat in 2008,  Karthik Calling Karthik, Pappu Can’t Dance, Utt Pataang, Phas Gaye Re Obama, Agneepath, Jannat 2, Chalo Dilli to name a few.
