Hence Aamir Khan spent many days with Darsheel playing Uno Cards and cricket with him. Aamir also taught English Grammar to him. After spending few days with Darsheel, Aamir became his friend and slowly and gradually Aamir Khan cleverly shot the film in a playful ambience. Darsheel in an interview informed that his contribution in the film was just 1% while it was Aamir Khan who coxed out 99% performance from him. Darsheel regards Aamir Khan as his Guru and curves to work with him again. Today when he looks at the film Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel feels proud of being so fortunate to get a debut in a film with an actor and director like Aamir Khan. Like Aamir Khan, Darsheel signed just one film a year Despite the huge success of Taare Zameen Par, Darseel did not get carried away with stardom and sign more movies. Though he was flooded with offers but he kept his cool and signed only those films that he found worthy and with good directors. Also like his mentor Aamir Khan, Darsheel did only one film in a year. After a huge gap of three years after Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel, he did Bumm Bumm Bole (2010) directed by brilliant filmmaker Priyadarshan. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award For Best Foreign Language Film. In 2011, Darsheel did Zokkomon, in which he played a super kid with powers of superman. The film was directed by Aamir Khan’s TV serial Satyameva Jayate director Satyajit Bhatkal. In 2012, Darsheel had the privilege of working under the direction of world’s renowned director Deepa Mehta in her film Midnight's Children. Darsheel and his tryst with TV Darsheel created sensation with his dance performance Jhalak Dikhla Ja 5. The judges termed him Chhota Packet. He showcased his talent in dancing by performing innovative dance forms like Jazz, Hip-Hop, Semi-classical, Kathak and Kalaripayattu. His dance on Aamir Khan’s song Pehla Nasha with partner Avneet Kaur was truly amazing. Darsheel stole thunder on stage with Ranbir Kapoor In 2013, At the age of 16 years Darsheel stole thunder at 18th International Children’s Film Festival, India by hosting the show with non other Ranbir Kapoor.
