Born in Mumbai and follows Islam religion, Mohsin did his schooling from Children’s Academy in Mumbai and completed his education from Mithibai College of Arts, Chauhan Institute of Science and Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics.     He was good at studies and had topped in Electronic Engineering. However, his interest was in films.

As a child, Mohsin Khan was a shy kid. He loved writing, singing and scripting short films. At the age of 18 he had got his first break in an Ad film for Ceat Tyre Advertisement.  Fond of cats, it is said he carries his pet cat ‘Furry’ on the shooting sets!!

Mohsin Khan known for his roles in the Television , acted in the tele seri on Star Plus in the Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Kartik Goenka.  He was awarded for the Star Parivar for favourite Jodi and favourite Pati. 

He initially worked as the second assistant director in the film Koylaanchal.

The actor had made his debut in the Star Plus television show called the Nisha Aur Uske Cousins.  He was also a part of the very popular serial Meri Ashiqee Tumse Hi which was aired on Colours television.  He has worked in many television serials after his popular role as Kartik Goenka  in Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Mohsin Khan has also acted in Bollywood films like Sirf Romance : Love by Chance in 2007, .Dil Toh Deewana Hai in 2016 and  Drone in 2017
