Ranvir Shorey born in Jalandhar in Punjab, did his early schooling from Dayanad Model Sr. Secondary School in Jalandhar.   Ranvir Shorey started his career as VJ.  Made his debut in Ek Chhotisi Love Story.

He did his college education from Mithibai College in Vile Parle West in Mumbai and at Xavier’s Institute in Fort.

Married to his longtime girlfriend Konkana Sen from whom he has a son. The couple later divorced but continued to stay in touch to share the custody of their son.

Ranvir Shorey the actor was formerly a VJ and made his debut in the film Ek Chhotisi Love Story released in 2002 appearing opposite Manisha Koirala.  Thereafter he starred in various films such as Jism in 2003, Lakshya in 2004 and also starred in the critically acclaimed film Traffic Signal and Bheja Fry in the year 2007.  He acted in the commercial film Mithya in 2008.

Along with his co-star Vinay Pathak he hosted a talk show Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun which was successful.  Besides the talk show he also was a part of the Great Indian Comedy Show aired on Star One. 

Ranveer also played a role in Khosla Ka Ghosla in 2006 after which his role was noticed and he got to play another comedy role in Paar Ka Side Effects . along with his friend Rahul Bose who played the character of comedian. Thereafter he appeared in a multi starrer film Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd in 2007 which was quite successful and he got more roles to play in films like Aaja Nachle in the same year.  

Ranveer was seen in films like Ugly Aur Pagli and Singh is Kinng. 

Besides films he has also hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7 in 2014 aried on Colours Television Channel.

In 2018, Ranveer starred in the film Shame opposite Swara Bhaskar and Sonchiriya in 2019 with actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpayee.    His latest and last film was in the dark comedy but a brilliant film called Kadakh where in the film was grasping enough for the audience to be glued to the screen.
