Rohan was set to become an investment banker after he got his degree in econometrics and mathematics from UK. Genetically he feels there is nothing that made him change his mind and become just like his father , but he just felt inclined to acting.
Usually these days the star kids are in news much before their entry into the films and are known faces in Bollywood, however it was not the case with the young handsome Rohan Mehra, the son of the veteran actor Vinod Mehra.
With the premature death of his father Vinod Mehra, the family shifted out of Mumbai and settled in Kenya. He grew up with his sister, mother and grandparents away from the film industry or Mumbai the hub of the Hindi Cinema.
Rohan was a toddler when his father Vinod Mehra died in the year 1990 and sadly admits that the father and son never got a chance to be in the same photo.
Rohan follows Hinduism and is Khatri by birth. Although Rohan Mehra believes that the Bollywood film industry has welcomed everyone with open arms, having come from a background of film family, he struggled to get his first break and foothold in the Hindi Cinema. In his earlier days he was never interested in Cinema but as he grew older, he was drawn towards acting. he He was raised in Kenya, where there was only one theatre and no one was interested in films or career in films.
Rohan Mehra will make his debut in Saif Ali Khan starrer film,
‘Bazaar’ . He was known or heard about only after he joined the industry and nobody knew who he was. He says he never felt the need to use his father’s name for entering the industry. The path he has chosen may be tough as many with God Fathers already in the industry get more opportunities is the belief of the Industry and in general and yet struggle to create a niche for themselves.
People got to know of him only after the trailer of the film ‘Bazaar’ was released. He respects his private life and admires the people of the film industry. In the interview he mentioned that he did not get the role because of his surname of his father’s film connection. A boy who firmly believes that the Film Industry.
Like every new comer, Rohan is also excited and nervous about his first film release whether he will be accepted as a good actor. In Bazaar he has starred opposite Radhika Apte and Chitrangda Singh besides Saif Ali Khan. The film is produced by Nikhil Advani and directed by Gauravv Chawla.
On success of the film Bazaar, he says his father Vinod Mehra must have had the biggest smile if he were alive to see his son on the screen. True as they say your legacy is carried forward by your own and cherished by thousands.
