From being a Bhojpuri film sensation to Television Queen, beautiful actress Rashami Desai like every actress has been trying to make it big in Bollywood but despite being stunningly gorgeous Rashami Desai has failed to impress Bollywood. However she is all set to make waves in Bollywood with her super hit Gujarati film ‘Superstar’ being remade in Hindi and all set to release soon in Mumbai.
According to reports the film has broken box office records in Gujarat and the producers are hopeful the movie will make a similar impact in Bollywood as it is edge of the seat suspense thriller. One wonders will the film become a hit and make Rashami Desai a Superstar.
Rashami Desai has been working since her young age hence she is comfortable portraying somber roles, dancing, comedy, action roles etc. Rashmi is a versatile actress and with dazzling figure and a pretty face she sets the screen on fire with her powerful performance. Rashami Desai wanted to be a doctor but never thought of becoming an actress

Since her school days she aspired to be a doctor or an air-hostess. Becoming an actress was never on her cards because she was born in a small village in Nagaon in Assam, where cinema and glamour are a distant dream.
She did her schooling from Ulubari High School and J B Khot High School in Assam and graduation from Assam University. While studying she also learnt classical dances Kathak and Bharatnatyam.
After learning dance Rashami Desai decided to pursue Choreography
When Rashami Desai started learning classical dance form Kathak and Bharatnatyam, she fell in love with dance and for that phase of her life she wanted to become a Choreographer in films. But her Dance Guru advised her to try a career in films.
Rashami Desai had a bad marriage
During the making of TV serial Uttaran, Rashmi Desai and her co-star Nandish Sandhu came close. Love blossomed and after dating for few years the two got married in Dholpur on 12 February 2012 amidst the entire TV film celebrity gracing the beautiful couple's marriage.
However the relation became sour when Rashami was pregnant. There were rumors of Nandish Sandhu was having an extra-marital affair. As a result Rashami had hard times during her pregnancy. She left her house but after delivering a cute baby girl, the couple re-united.
But the couple had again decided to separate and eventually got divorced.
It is now rumored that Rashami Desai is dating Sidharth Shukla, her new co-star in the TV serial Dil Se Dil Tak .
Rashami Desai made debut in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan film
Readers will be shocked to know that Rashami Desai made her debut in Bollywood with a Shah Rukh Khan film, Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004).

Television made Rashami Desai a star overnight
Dejected in Bollywood, Rashami Desai tried her luck in television and interestingly the silver screen audience welcomed her with open hands and she was soon a favourite among the household especially the women who watched the daily soaps.
She made her debut with Zee TV’s serial Raavan, (2006). In this serial she played the role of Mandodri, which was widely appreciated.
Later she got the opportunity to play a dual role of Nikki and Pari in a popular serial Pari Hoon Main (2008) aired on Star One show.
What followed next were an array of TV serials like ‘Meet Milla De Rabba’ (2008-2009) on Sony TV; ‘Ssshhhh. . .Phir Koi Hai’ on Star One but the TV serial that made her Queen of the television is the popular serial ‘Uttaran’that ran for many years on the colours channel.
In Uttaran she portrayed, Tapasya, a vamp role for the first time and she hit the bull’s eye. Aired on Color Channel she became a household name from 2008 and ruled up to 2014. The serial is still on air but Rashami has sidelined from the serial due to unexplainable reasons.
Desai has taken part in numerous dance TV shows including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 which aired on Colors TV. In Nach Baliye 7 she danced with husband Nandish Sandhu and even reached finals and was First Runner-up in the show.
Besides this she has also done reality shows like Comedy Circus ka Maha Sangram, Zara Nachke Dikha, Crime Patrol, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Currently, she is engaged in Color’s daily soap Dil Se Dil Tak opposite her latest beau Siddharth Shukla.
Rashami Desai foray in Bhojpuri films
Rashami Desai made her foray in Bhojpuri films and became a huge star with her debut film Balma Bada Naadan (2010). The film was produced by Bollywood actor and Bhojpuri film superstar of the 70’s Sujit Kumar.
Interestingly Rashami Desai worked in Bhojpuri film with her real name Divya Desai.
As per the tradition of Bhojpuri films she daringly did bold and hot sexy scenes and thus became darling of the masses. She did over 20 Bhojpuri films most popular being Gazab Bhail Rama, Gabbar Singh, Hum Hai Gawaar, Kab Hoi Gauna Hammar, Shahar Wali Jaan Mareli, Tohse Pyar Ba…. Etc. In fact she even did many Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri movies.
