Vaani Kapoor was born in Delhi to businessman Shiv Kapoor and a teacher turned marketing executive mother Dimpy Kapoor. Kapoor ensued her schooling from Mata Jai Kaur Public School. She graduated in tourism studies from Indira Gandhi Open University after which went on to serve in an internship at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. She then followed her modelling aspirations by working in Elite Model Management which subsequently led her to been cast in a Television serial in the year to her being called upon by Yash Raj films for a three film contract.

Vaani Kapoor’s looks were put to discussion after the release of her latest film Befikre with popular actor / producer Kamal R Khan who criticized her of undergoing a cheek surgery impairing her natural looks from her film debut through twitter which created quite a fuzz in the social media recently.

Film debut and rise to prominence ( 2013) Vaani Kapoor was signed in by Yash Raj films in 2012 for a three movie contract which started off with her Bollywood debut after an audition process in the romcom Shudd Desi Romance which saw her pairing with Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra in the lead. The film which dealt with the trials and tribulations of live in relationships in a funny way had Vaani Kapoor playing an outspoken and fun loving girl which got noted instantly. Many critics praised her overwhelming screen presence and defining adaptability to the craft in her debut itself marking her apart from her on screen stars. The huge commercial success of the movie made her an overnight sensation of Btown coupled with a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut that year. Tamil debut ( 2014) Vaani Kapoor as a part of her three film contract with Yash Raj films was cast in their Tamil production Aaha Kalyanam, which was an official remake of the successful Ranveer Singh starrer Band Baaja Baaraat which had Kapoor reprising Anushka Sharma’s part from the original movie. The movie rose to highly polarizing reviews but Kapoor succeeded in making a mark with her official Tamil debut by crossing the language barrier with much ease, pulling of the emotional and romantic under shades of the character with utmost conviction and her lead association with actor Nani too was well appreciated. Kapoor was just lost in the character and was seen coming up with a stellar act although the movie was only an average affair. Return after two year hiatus ( 2016) Vaani Kapoor’s official three film contract with Yash Raj productions came to an end with Befikre, the latest directorial venture of Bollywood’s uncrowned king of romance Aditya Chopra. The cheesy rom com which had her pairing with Ranveer Singh for the first time and told the story of the over the top romantic antics between a quirky stand-up comedian from India and a Independent Indian French girl who try their luck at a carefree unburned relationship with no love but is later forced to reconsider their feeling for one another after a breakup which is narrate through flashbacks. A huge number critics and the masses took a major disliking to the movie’s clichéd storyline and uneventful story telling but all praises were showered on Vaani Kapoor and Ranveer Singh for their magnetic on screen chemistry which resonated with each time the duo comes together on screen. Vaani Kapoor was seen getting right under the skin of the character and was successful in rendering life to the otherwise disengaging affair at hand coupled with a top class performance from Ranveer Singh. Recently there were rumours that Vaani Kapoor had recently got a physical transformation and like Anushka Sharma she too had trolled into for an alleged lipjob. Over the years we see many in Bollywood going under the knife for a transformed new look . It was said that Vaani Kapoor's lip and chin job which apparently didnt go too well for her with her fans who preferred her original look. But the actress rubbished the rumours of her lip and chin job and said for the film, ' Befikre' she had to undergo a tremendous weight loss resulting her in her face looking different and in the film in which some parts were shot in the freezing Paris, her face looked different from certain angles.. The bubbly actress said she cannot afford a surgery as she is just one film old !!
