Bali was active in films in the late 1960s and through the 1970s.Bali was born in Mumbai. She is the niece of Bollywood Actress Geeta Bali (Shammi Kapoor ’s first wife) and was married to Kishore Kumar and was his third wife. During the filming of Shakti Samanta’s film” Shabhash Daddy ' she fell in love him . She later divorced to marry actor Mithun Chakraborty in 1980, after their film Khwab in which they paired together. It is said Kishore Kumar initially refused to sing for Mithun Chakraborty following this marriage that for his films and hence Bappi Lahiri , the music director of many of Mithun’ s early films sang for Mithun himself. She has four children with Mithun, Mimoh, Rimoh, Namashi and Dishani. Her son Mimoh Chakraborty made his debut in the Bollywood as a film actor but did not do well.

Yogeeta Bali was active in films, from late 1960 to the 1970. Yogeeta Bali is remembered for one of her most enjoyable performances and a memorable one for her film ‘Biwi-O-Biwi” starring opposite to Sanjeev Kumar. She retired from films permanently after she married Mithun Chakraborty to start a family. Yogeeta Bali acted opposite to Amitabh Bachchan in Parwana in 1971, and she worked with the reining stars of the seventies like Shatrughan Sinha in ‘ Buniyaad’ in 1972, Dev Anand in ‘ Banarasi Babu ’ in 1973, and Sanjeev Kumar in “ Jaani Dushman” in 1979. She acted in the film ‘ Khwab’ in 1980 with Mithun Chakrabory besides her film “Biwi-O-Biwi” in 1981 In the 1980’s she was seen in the films like Jaanwar in 1982, followed by in the film Laila in 1984 and Aakhri Badla in 1990. She was in the film industry for a short period as she came in the film line around the same time when there were huge female stars so she had a stiff competition with her contemporaries like Reena Roy, Rakhee, Sharmila Tagore, Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman, Rekha , Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan.. therefore resulting in her exit from the industry to concentrate on her personal life after her marriage to Mithun Chakraborty. Yogeeta Bali has acted in about 60 films in the short span between the late 1960’s , through the 70’s to 1981. Much of her films were less popular except the few that have got their due credit and she has been remembered for her memorable roles in those.
