were becoming popular stories. His fame was all over the world and he had
influenced not only the West but also the Indians.
The Rajneesh
Ashram was in the big city of America and many film personalities renounced
their world went in search of peace of mind at the Osho Ashram run by Rajneesh.
Many film
personalities became his staunch followers who made Rajneesh their Guru, their
mentor, and one of them was actor Vinod Khanna. At the crucial time of his career, he left
Bollywood and went to America to join the Rajneesh Osho Ashram and became a
Sadhu.
When he
lived in the Osho Ashram, Vinod Khanna had to face a lot of difficulties every
day. He had to wash vessels in the kitchen, he had to clean the toilets and
sometimes he had to also water the plants in the gardens and also serve the
visitors who visited the ashram. He went through a tough time.
Vinod
Khanna’s decision of renouncing the world, becoming a Sadhu, and following the
Osho, not only caused his film producers huge losses who had signed him for
their films as he was at his peak in his career. They had invested a lot for the films but his
first wife was very upset and had left him and he had two young sons whom he
left. His son Akshaye Khanna was only 5 then.
Vinod Khanna
had joined Rajneesh Ashram to get some peace. He did not gain any peace of mind
and he also spoilt his 5 precious years of his life. Vinod
Khanna’s luck was in his favour. His fans had not forgotten him in those five
years that he was away from Bollywood.
He made his come back with his super hit film and he once again got a warm welcome in Bollywood.
