The plot of the movie revolves around a US return man named Shankar who found his father in a small town. Cheating people by pretending to be a miraculous Baba. When he sees it happening, he can't bear it. To open people's eyes and expose his hypocritical father Shankar takes the help of the magician.
Kader Khan's exit from Jadugar:
Khan was a dialogue writer in this movie. As per reports about some matter or money, there was a rift between Prakash Mehra and Kader Khan. Later Kadar Khan left the movie.
Aditya Pancholi's Debut Movie Jadugar:
Prakash Mehra wanted to cast Mithun Chakraborty as the second lead opposite Amitabh in the movie. But Mithun Chakraborty spent many months to give dates to Prakash. Later on, Jackie was approached for the role but he also rejected it. Finally, this role went to debutant Aditya Pancholi.
Behind the Scenes Drama: Vinod Khanna's Sudden Exit :
Prakash Mehra has cast Vinod Khanna in the first place. For this, he also gave fees to Vinod Khanna. But unfortunately, he also left the movie without giving any reason. Jadugar's music was composed by Kalyan ji and Aanand ji and the lyricist is Anjan, Prakash Mehra and Javed Akhtar. This wasn't a typical Amitabh Bachchan movie with Prakash Mehra-styled film with emotions, a mixture of romance action and a little comedy.
Unfortunately, the movie was poorly received by critics and audiences. It wasn't successful at the box office. And was declared a flop. After Jadugar Amrish Puri received much praise for his negative role and in the future received many roles from filmmakers for negative roles.
