The blockbuster movie 'Mard' is directed by Manmohan Desai and produced by Anil Nagrath, Pammie Varma, and Manmohan Desai. The music for the movie is composed by Anu Malik, and the lyrics are written by Prayagraj Indeevar and Rajendra Krishan.

The movie's writers are Inder Raj Anand, Pushpa Raj Anand, Sohel Don, Anil Nagrath, Prayagraj, and K K Shukla. The star cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Amrita Singh, Dara Singh, Nirupa Roy, Bob Christo, Dan Dhanoa, Prem Chopra, and Kamal Kapoor.

'Mard' inspired a Tamil remake titled 'Maaveeran.' Amitabh's character in the movie draws inspiration from the Phantom comic character, as both Amitabh and Phantom have a horse and a dog as companions in the story.'Mard' is the first movie directed by Manmohan Desai with only one male lead.

It was released during Diwali in 1985 and performed well at the box office, marking the last blockbuster collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan and Manmohan Desai.
