Karan was born in New Delhi in a Punjabi Sikh family. When he was young his family moved to Alk Khobar in Saudi Arabia.  He finished his schooling in Dammam in Saudi Arabia and then pursued the degree in Hotel Management from IHM in Mumbai. 

He joined the Hotel Sheraton in Oman as Marketing Executive before he joined the entertainment industry.

Karan had married actress Shraddha Nigam in 2008 but the marriage had not lasted long and had ended within 10 months. He later married Jennifer Winget in 2012. The couple separated in 2014 and Karan married actress Bipasha Basu in 2016.

Karan is known to be spiritual but is not religious and is a fitness freak.

Karan Singh Grover was known for his work in the television series as Dill Mill Gayye and Qubool Hai. He had also starred in the films, Alone and Hate Story 3. 

He made his comeback with his digital debut with BOSS: Baap of Special Services.

Besides films and television Grover had in 2004 pursued a career in modelling and had participated in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest and had begun his career with Balaji Telefilms and then the youth show, ‘Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi’ on MTV. He was selected from a nationwide talent conducted by the production house.

In Dill Mill Gayye the film was about the medical youth drama wherein Grover became an instant hit among the viewers and a teenage Icon. He had also participated in several advertisements to endorse their products.

Later he had done with shows for Cinevistaas Limited and featured in their telefilm called Teri Meri Love Stories and had appeared in a cameo role in Dil Dosti Dance.

In 2012 Karan Grover returned to work for the daily fiction with 4 Lions Films, Qubool Hai. The show gained its popularity and became the number 2 in the Indian Television.  

He won two Best Actor and Popular Awards for his portrayal in the series as Asad Ahmed Khan.

In 2013 he was one of the highest paid television star.

In 2015 Grover featured in the films like Alone and Hate Story 3 which were box office success wherein he stole the show.

Grover is also a brand ambassador for designer Rocky S’s Signature Brand RS. He worked along with the actress Bipasha Basu.

He was also the brand ambassador for UM Motorcycles.

In 2018 he modelled clothing for the Lakme Fashion Week. 

In 2019 He appeared in Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Web series called the BOSS: Baap of Special Service. The same year, he also made a comeback in television after a long gap of 6 years in the television serial Kasauti Zindagii Kay and essayed the role of Rishabh Bajaj.  The role made him one of the highest paid actor on the television. 

Since then Grover has signed 3 more projects, 3 Dev, Firrkie and Aadat Diaries.
