As IPS officer Majmudar he has an author back role that is packed with fiery dialogues and mixed with dry humor. From the first scene where he pledges to seize Raees to the climax scene where he encounters Raees, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is just awesome! The scenes where both ShahRukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui clash are the highlight of the film and a sheer pleasure to watch because of the great chemist between two actors. While both film critics and film buffs feel that Nawazuddin Siddiqui has overshadowed King Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui does not agree. He says, “ShahRukh Khan, like me is a theater actor and is equally powerful.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui would steal money from brother’s piggy back to watch cinema As a child Nawazuddin Siddiqui had passion for acting. Though he would help his father in farm and study at civic school in the village, but he would always find time to run away and watch village carnivals and folk performances. He would be captivated by the utter performances of the artist and would replicate them in solitude. Since there was always cash problem, he would steal money from his elder brother’s piggy box and run away to watch movies. Soon acting became his passion and he would entertain village people with his acts. But village people would mock at him because he was not blessed with chocolate looks. They would ridicule his Kala- Kaluta looks but his mother always motivated him a boosted his determination to become a big actor one day! Nawazuddin Siddiqui learnt bitter lesson of life when he lost Rs 10/- Nawazuddin Siddiqui was brought up in small village Budhana, a small town of Muzzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer. He has nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters. As a child he was playful and mischievous but his life changed when he lost Rs 10/- that his father had given him. Recalling the emotional night Nawazuddin said, “For two to three days the family had not eaten due to financial crunch but when my father found the children crying for food due to intense hunger he gave me Rs 10/- the only amount he had in his possession to bring sugar so that the family would make some tea and quench hunger. But in the darkness of night, I lost the money. My father was very angry. He beat me. At night I searched my father’s pocket and found that he really had no money! I was shattered and decided to study hard and make money.” Nawazuddin Siddiqui completed graduation and became the only graduate in his village Depressed by father’s poor financial status, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, decided to quit his pranks and craze for acting and focus on studies so that he could fetch a respectable income. He completed his graduation in science from Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar and won the distinction of becoming the first graduate in his village! After completing his graduation in Chemistry he got the job of a chemist in Baroda. Nawazuddin Siddiqui worked as a watchman to pursue his acting bug After working for few months as chemist, the acting bug in Nawazuddin Siddiqui forced him to quit the job and move to Delhi, where he joined National School of Drama (NSD) and did theatre to quench his thirst for acting. Since theatre pays nothing hence to survive, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, shed his modesty, and worked as a watchman to make a living. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, completed NSD in 1996 and worked four years in theatre in Delhi. He had joined the Sakshi Theatre Group where he got an opportunity to work with talented actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Saurabh Shukla.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui had arranged marriage Nawazuddin Siddiqui married Aliya Anjali Siddiqui in his village Budhana in 2008 in the traditional Muslim wedding ceremony. His wife Aliya hails from Jabalpur, in Madhya Pradesh. It was an arranged marriage.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui moved to Mumbai and began his career doing tit-bit roles When Nawazuddin Siddiqui landed in Mumbai in late 90’s he had to struggle a lot. For days he would hunt studios and return home without success. He even tried TV but was left aghast to find that only handsome looking actor were entertained and ugly looking actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui had no place. Hence dejected he joined the extra group, where he started getting few one minute or two minutes role. His first on screen role was in Aamir Khan's Sarfarosh (1999). He played a local criminal who is arrested and interrogated after a raid at Victoria House in the film. His other notable cameo include 'dacoit informer' in Jungle, 'pickpocket' in Munna Bhai M B B S, 'local goon in the bathroom' in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local ll Anurag Kashyap first recognized Nawazuddin Siddiqui The first filmmaker who really motivated Nawazuddin Siddiqui and recognized his talent is Anurag Kashyap, who rose to fame as story writer of Satya and convectional films like Dev D, Black Friday, Gangs of Wasseypur. Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “When I was doing tit-bits roles. Once Anurag Kashyap asked me why I do such petite roles, I said I get Rs 1500 per day and I can pay my rent. He was sad and assured me when he would make films he would cast me and he did. He gave me a small but good role in Black Friday. The film helped me a lot because more the film, I was noticed because I had worked with Anurag Kashyap.” Aamir Khan’s recommendation helped Nawazuddin Siddiqui win role in Peepli Live When Nawazuddin Siddiqui did his first film as an extra in Aamir Khan’s film Sarfarosh, Aamir Khan was impressed by his acting skills. Hence he promised Nawazuddin that he will recommend his name, if he finds a suitable role for him. When Aamir Khan began his home production’s film Peepli Live, he recommended Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s name for the brief role of Rakesh. This was the first role that won little recognition for Nawazuddin Siddiqui that later opened doors for other good roles. Nawazuddin Siddiqui won Bollywood attention after wining special jury National award After Peepli Live, serious filmmaker made note of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and he was offered authored back strong roles in films like Aamir Khan’s Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, Vidya Balan’s Kahaani, Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur and Dekh Indian Circus. Interestingly in all these films Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance was appreciated by both film buffs and film critics. Nawazuddin Siddiqui was flooded with awards and to add cherry on the cake – Nawazuddin Siddiqui won a Special Jury National Award for all the three films Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, Kahaani, Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur and Dekh Indian Circus. Nawazuddin Siddiqui wrote a new history by becoming the first actor in Indian Cinema to get Special Jury National Award for4 films simultaneously! The announcement of National Award suddenly drew the attention of Bollywood commercial filmmakers and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was offered commercial films. Nawazuddin Siddiqui became a star after Kick opposite Salman Khan After drawing Bollywood attention with National award and popular awards like Screen Award and Zee Cine Awards as Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Talaash: The Answer Lies Within along with the most admired Filmfare award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Lunchbox; Nawazuddin Siddiqui received his first lead villains’ role opposite Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Kick (2014). The movie was super hit. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance was loved by the audience and the audience went bananas at his dialogue delivers and his action scenes with Salman Khan. Interestingly Nawazuddin Siddiqui continued his hit record with his next two consecutive films (Both Commercial) Badlapur and Bajrangi Bhaijaan became box office sensation. In both the films Nawazuddin Siddiqui won rave reviews for his brilliant performance. In both the films Nawazuddin Siddiqui won counties top most awards Screen award for his best role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, while Fiilmfare nomination for Badlapur
