Riteish Deshmukh has won the following Awards in his career span as a Bollywood Film Actor. 2004 Star Screen Award 2004 Zee Cine Award 2005 IIFA Award 2005 – Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in comic Role for the film Masti. 2005 – Stardust Award for a breakthrough performance for the film Masti. 2006 Golden Petal Award and the IIFA Award 2006 – Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a comic role for Bluffmaster 2006 – Stardust Award for Best Supporting Actor for Kya Kool Hai Hum 2011-Airtel Super Star Award 2012- IIFA Award for his comic role in Double Dhamaal Housefull. 2012 – Star Parivaar Award for Favourite Mazebaan – 2013 – Star Parivaar Award for Favourite Judge for India’s Dancing Superstar 2013 - Won several Awards for Balak Palak as a Producer of the film. 2014 – Big Star Most Entertaining Actor in a Thriller Film ( Male) for Ek Villain. 2015- IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film Ek Villain and Lai Bhaari for the Regional film ( Marathi ) 2015 – Guild Award for Best Actor in Negative Role – Ek Villain. The actor donated Rs. 25 lakhs to Latur for the their ‘ Jalyukta Latur’ an initiative to make the parched district water sufficient in his home town. In 2013 he started the Celebrity Cricket League called the Veer Marathi which he owned as well as mentored as the team captain co-owned by his brother Dheeraj Deshmukh. While the Brand ambassador is his wife Genelia D’Souza. Riteish is a wrestling fan and his favourite star is Bret the Hitman Hart. He first starred in V Shantaram’s Home production film in which he was to play a villain but the film got shelved in 2007. This Sagittarius born actor Riteish Deshmukh born to Vilasrao Deshmukh and Vaishali Deshmukh. The Late Vilasrao Deshmukh was a politician and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra .He has two brothers and both have joined politics. Riteish studied at the G.D. Somani Memorial School and did his architectural degree from Kamla Raheja College of Architecture Mumbai. He practiced for over a year in an overseas firm and continued to design after his return to India and maintains an ownership in Evolutions, an India based architectural and interior designing firm and is very passionate about this venture that’s his first interest.
Riteish Deshmukh stint with the filmline started with his venture, his own production house Mumbai Film Company in 2013 and produced the first film in Marathi called the Balak Palak which was a huge success and he won several awards. Directed by Ravi Jadhav . the following year Deshmukh made his acting debut in the Marathi film Lai Bhari. Deshmukh has not only been one of the most promising actors today but is also a producer and a singer. He married actress Genelia D’Souza after they had acted together in the few films like Tujhe Meri Kasam , Masti and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya .. Riteish made his debut in Hindi films in 2003 with K. Vijaya Bhaskar’s Tujhe Meri Kasam with Genelia D’Souza but it was not until 2004 that he actually started a flourishing career in the film industry after his film Masti in 2004 wherein he achieved success and he established himself as one of the actors of the Hindi Cinema. His work in the film Masti was nominated for several awards including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor category. He later starred in many comedy films such as Houseful, Dhamaal, Double Dhamaal and Housefull 2 , Humshakals and is today known as one of the most versatile actor and Riteish Deshmukh name instantly brings a cheer that the films he works in are full on humour light comedy and loved by his fans and public. Since then Riteish starred in many commercially successful films such as Kya Kool Hai Hum, Bluffmaster, Malamaal Weekly, Grand Masti, Ek Villain and Housefull 3. Riteish appeared in the film Out of Control which earned him moderate success . His roles have been widely laughed and regardless how well the film does his performance has been much acclaimed and he has gained his popularity as an actor with a great sense of humour and great in his comedy roles. Therefore he has not only earned fame for his performance in Masti but also earned him two other awards. He subsequently appeared in the films Bardaasht and Naach, both of them failed at the box office. While film Kyaa Kool Hai Hum with Tusshar Kapoor was considered to be a sex-comedy film that was much appreciated by the audience and was a moderate success at the box office. With this Riteish had established himself in the Bollywood film industry via his comic roles and a strong foothold as an actor. Some of the other films in which he has appeared are Apna Sapna Money Money apart from Bluffmaster with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. He was also seen in a guest role in Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Zaroori Hai and then Namastey London which was a box office super hit followed by Cash in 2007. In the same year he also appeared in Sajid Khan’s directorial debut Heyy Baby with Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Fardeen Khan which was a huge hit. In 2008 Riteish Deshmuk once again played a lead role in De Taali in which his performance has been highly praised and the film Chamku but both these films failed at the box office. In 2009, some of his releases were Aladin with co-star Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez. He then went on to play a supporting actor’s role in Ram Gopal’s film Rann , again co-starring with Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. His last film of 2009 was Do Knot Disturb with Govinda, Sushmita Sen , Sohail Khan and Lara Dutta. Riteish Deshmukh has to his credit some of the comedy films like Housefull with Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Kha. The film is said to have received negative responses from the film critics though commercially it performed well. In 2011 he played the role of a fake college principal in the film F.A.L.T.U which was above average grossing films for Deshmukh. In 2012, he appeared in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya in which he is paired opposite his wife Genelia D’Souza and it proved to be a commercial hit despite it being made on a shoestring budget. Deshmukh then started working on the remake of his Marathi film Balak Palak in Hindi as the Marathi film produced by him was a grand success. With his role in Ek Villain, Riteish made his debut as a Villain and the film had received box office success. In 2015 Riteish Deshmukh appeared along with Pulkit Samrat and Jacqueline Fernadez for the film Bangistan . The film was a comedy and received mixed responses and was a box office disaster. Riteish Deshmukh, Tusshar Kapoor at the Audio release of 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum'. In 2016, Riteish Deshmukh appeared in his third installment of the Housefull 3 and Masti Series with the release of Great Grand Masti and the musical drama Banjo. He is scheduled and signed up for comedy films Bank Chor and action film Mauli which will be released in 2017.
