A complaint transformed careless young Taapsee Pannu into a genius girl Taapsee Pannu as a child was a careless girl and would be busy either dancing, playing sports and would ignore studies. She remembers that when she was in class III, a school teacher complained to her parents about her careless behavior. In an interview Taapsee Pannu recalled, It was the first time somebody had complained against her. Though she was quite young but it hurt her so much that from that day she had made up her mind to be studious and take care of her belongings. Tapsee Pannu, who was a happy-go-lucky girl and who fared badly in studies transformed herself so much that she scored 90% in class XII examination. She further went on to graduate in Computer Science Engineering from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi and worked as a software engineer. Taapsee Pannu’s passion for dance and films Taapsee Pannu as a child had a passion for dance and drama. When she was a kid she had trained herself in Kathak and Bharatanatyam. She loved watching Indian films but her father was strict. He believed that Tapsee should first acquire sound education and then do whatever she desired. It was her father who developed little Tapsee’s interest in Maths by being stern. At times, he even beat her on her knuckles until she understood the Maths sums properly. But her father’s sternness paid off and she went on to score 88 in CAT for her MBA entrance exams. She repents had she scored 90 marks, life would have been different. From Engineering to Glamour world Nevertheless with a degree in Computer Science Engineering she was happy working as software engineer in a private firm. But one day when she was surfing the internet she saw an advertisement of Channel V Get Gorgeous pageant and she could not resist the temptation of glamour world. She filled the form with her recent pictures which weren’t shot by professional photographers but to her pleasant surprise she was selected from thousands of contestants across India. Channel V opened floodgate of offers and from a software engineer, Tapsee turned to modeling. She did modeling for popular brands like Reliance Trends, Red FM 93.5, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Pantaloon, PVR Cinemas, Standard Chartered Bank, Dabur, Airtel, Tata Docomo etc. She even won the prestigious Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face and Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin at the 2008 Femina Miss India contest. All this led to her entry in films.

Taapsee Pannu is sure that she will never marry a sardar or a film star Though Tapsee Pannu is a Jat Sardar but somehow she is not attracted to sardars. In an in interview she candidly confessed, “I am sure I will not marry a sardar!” Recalling her first dating she says that when she was in class IX she had dated a boy friend but he deserted her which hurt her so much that she has been keeping distance from boys. However ever since she has landed in the glamour world, she has been constantly linked with several stars. Her relation with Varun Dhawan during making of Chashme Baddoor is well known. Later when she went to watch Danish badminton player Mathias Boe, who won a men’s doubles match at the India Open at Siri Fort Sports Complex, she was linked with him. Further when she was shooting with the Tamil film Aarambam opposite Arya, she was again linked. But Taapsee has declined all links as rumor and made it clear that career is her first option and there is no place for marriage right now. She has also made it clear that she will not marry any film star or celebrity.

Taapsee Pannu was first discovered by South Indian Cinema Taapsee Pannu was first introduced on silver screen by South film legend K. Raghavendra Rao in 2010 with his musical romantic Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. But before the film was released she had signed three more south films viz. Aadukalam, Vastadu Naa Raju and Mr. Perfect. Thus she was simultaneously shooting for Jhummandi Naadam (Telugu) and Aadukalam (Tamil) opposite south superstar Dhanush and fortunately both the films were super hit. In fact Aadukalam (Tamil) won six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards ceremony and brought her more glory. Later she entered Malayalam cinema opposite superstar Mammootty in the film Doubles (2011) . In short from 2010 to 2014 she did 16 films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. In an interview she confessed the filmmaker David Dhawan was making a remake of 80’ hit film Chashme Baddoor. Like the original film, he too was experimenting with new comers and the film was being made on a shoe string budget. David Dhawan, wanted an actress who looked like Preity Zinta and has mischievous vibes like her. David Dhawan rejected several newcomers but when he saw Taapsee’s photographs he was convinced and offered her the role. Chashme Baddoor was released in 2013 and was a bitter flop. Taapsee Pannu faced tough times before getting 'Baby' After Chashme Baddoor was a failure Taapsee Pannu had a tough time making her place in Bollywood. She was asked to reduce her market price that she was charging down South. Many film producers signed her but threw her out of the project at the last movement when they got other big stars. Many top Bollywood stars declined to work opposite her as she was not A-Grade actress. However after'Baby' things changed but to get role in Baby was very difficult. When she heard about the casting of 'Baby' she pumped all her energies to acquire the role. She confessed that 'Baby' was the only film in her career where she literally ran around the filmmaker Neeraj Pande and convinced him that she can do the role forcefully. But Neeraj Pandey felt that she was a coy girl as depicted in Chashme Baddoor. Instead Taapsee claims she had been a Tom-boy since her childhood days. She said, “After a lot of cajoling I was able to persuade Neerajji (Neeraj Pande) that I am fit for the role of Shabana Khan, the valiant undercover agent in Baby.” Taapsee Pannu winning applause for her upcoming film Naam Shabana After Baby’s huge success actress Taapsee Pannu is back as the undercover spy Shabana in the prequel of Baby called 'Naam Shabana’. The film traces the past life of Shabana and is ready for release March 31, 2017. The trailer of the film is already a hit and dawning huge applause to Taapsee Pannu.
