102 Not Out is a comedy drama film directed by Umesh Shukla starring in the lead roles are Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. The film is inspired from the Gujarati play written by Saumya Joshi. and revolves around 102-year-old Dattatray Vakharia (Amitabh Bachchan) as the 102 year old who lives his life the gregarious way and is young at heart. Although he is old, he enjoys life and is very jovial person who is in love with his life, while his son Babulal Vakharia (Rishi Kapoor) is 76 and completely opposite and believes he is very old and lives a morose life and just goes by the routine of completing things on time. Has no smile or fun in his life and unlike his father, he detests his life has daily appointments with his physician to ensure his health is good for that day.
Dattatray Vakharia has a record to break of being the oldest living man and has to compete with a Chinese who is sixteen years older than him so to live 16 more years he has to live away from negativity and finds his 76 years old son negative influence so decides to send him to the Home for the Aged unless, he is willing to change and follow the conditions laid out by the senior Vakharia. The film is a sequence of hilarious scenes. Rest of the film revolves around the conditions given to Babulal and how while he fulfils his father’s rules, it brings about a change in his outlook towards life.
