Meethi, played by Konkana Sen Sharma suffers from schizophrenia and lives with her mother and older sister Anu, played by Shabana Azmi. Anu has dedicated her life to taking care of Meethi and their ageing mother, played by Waheeda Rehman. Due to Meethi’s condition, she has created an alternative reality in her mind that she is married to her ex-fiancé Joydeep, played by Rahul Bose, and they have 5 children together. In reality she is still unmarried and thinks that her sister and mother have held her captive away from her husband and children in a fictitious place called 15 Park Avenue.
Following a seizure, Meethi’s case is taken up by a new doctor and he advices Anu to take her for a vacation for a change of scenery. Anu takes her mother and Meethi to Bhutan. There they meet Joydeep, who is now married with two children. In her normal situation, Meethi doesn’t recognize him and befriends him. He is willing to help and do whatever he can to make her recuperate. He then takes Meethi to find the place called 15 Park Avenue and meet her imaginary husband and five children.
The movie is written and directed by Aparna Sen and produced by Bipin Vohra. The cinematography is done by Hemant Chaturvedi.
