A Decent Arrangement deals with NRIs and Indian people settled abroad for work who seek life partners with their traditional and cultural values. Loneliness and homesickness sometimes makes them come back to their homelands in search of love and affection.
Ashok, played by Adam Laupus is an Indian-American who has a lucrative career in copy writing. So far he has loved his freedom and the western lifestyle life has given him a chance to experience. However, he has a yearning for something more while living a very lonely existence in his busy lifestyle.
Thus he decides to come to India in search of his perfect Indian life partner. He stays with his cousin Preeti, played by Shabana Azmi and her family in the city of Chandigarh. Preeti does everything in her capacity to find a suitable girl for his US returned cousin. He finally zeroes in one but in a twist of fate he happens to meet another American girl who is visiting India and starts liking her as well. Now Ashok is a crossroad in his life in making the correct choice for himself.
The movie is directed, written and produced by Sarovar Banka. The music is composed by Neel Murgai.
