Dinanath is a pious Hindu and works as a firefighter. His son Shankar is as generous as him and one day brings home a young girl as he was feeling sorry for her plight. Her name in reality is Salma, but Dinanath names her Shanti thinking she is a Hindu girl. Soon Shanti takes care of everyone and the household. Seeing this Dinanath wants Shankar to marry her. Meanwhile he meets a blind man on the streets one day and is
shocked to find that he is Dr. Varma, someone he knows from a long time. He then remembers that his daughter Neetu and Shankar have been childhood lovers. Shanti comes to know about Neetu and is heartbroken, as she has started liking Shankar. Meanwhile Agnihotri, who is an
arch rival of Varma, comes to know that he is alive and wants to get rid of him under any circumstance. The film is directed by Ambrish Sangal and produced by Mohan Kumar. The music is composed by Usha Khanna. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Mohan Gokhale, Rameshwari, Neena Gupta, Madan Puri, Tiwari, Mohan Choti, Amrish Puri, Om Shiv Puri and Dulari.
