Aaina is an Emotional-Romantic Family Tragedy Drama Film crafted with excellence by K. Balachander. The Story revolves around the life of Shalini (played by Mumtaz)- A Self-Independent girl living in a Joint family consisting of devotee of Gods and rituals. She falls in love with Ashok (played by Rajesh Khanna) and agrees to marry each other, but his father wants him to join the army, leading to a rift in their relationship. After Ashok joined the Defence, he was killed on the Battlefield, leaving Shalini Heartbroken, and she joined prostitution leading to destruction among family members.
