Thakur and his family take donations from the entire village to build an idol in the newly constructed temple by them. Uttam Singh looks after the work but his brother-in-law Ram Singh steals the money one night and flees with his family. He is helped by the crooked Sitaram who then spreads the word of the theft. Uttam is embarrassed by his deeds and sells off his own mansion for money to build the idol. Years later Ram
Singh has now become a rich man and lives with his son Vijay. His wife however is left behind in the village. As Ram Singh gets old and is on his death bed, he tells the truth to Vijay and requests him to take care of his mother who has greatly suffered over the years because of his deeds. Vijay now vows to make all things right. The film is directed by Ravi Tandon and produced by Mohan Barodia. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Dara Singh and Nirupa Roy and Farida Jalal.
