Dayashakar, played by Amrish Puri, is settled in London with his wife and daughter Pooja, played by Madhuri Dixit. He also takes care of his late friend’s son Amar, played by Saif Ali Khan and hopes Pooja marries him some day. Amar completes his studies at the university and is excited to meet Pooja and her family. Pooja however has fallen in love with a pilot named Vijay, played by Akshay Kumar. When Dayashankar comes to know of this he is furious but lets his daughter have her wish. Amar is heart broken and attends Vijay and Pooja’s marriage.

 

Soon things take a turn for the worse in Pooja’s life when Vijay is pronounced dead in an aviation accident. Pooja’s world comes crashing down and she also learns that she is pregnant. Amar willingly agrees to marry Pooja and accept her baby as his own. Pooja realizes that he had always loved her and reciprocates his feelings. Later it is revealed that Vijay is alive and comes back to get Pooja. In a shocking truth it is revealed that Vijay’s accident was a mastermind of Dayashankar so Pooja could marry Amar. Sadly Amar dies while saving Pooja and Vijay’s son.

 

The movie is directed by Lawrence D'Souza and produced by Vikas Mohan. The star cast includes Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal, Laxmikant Berde, Tej Sapru, Mukesh Rishi, Mohan Joshi, Yunus Parvez, Aruna Irani and Reema Lagoo. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Anand Bakshi. The choreography is by Chinni Prakash and Saroj Khan.
