The movie is based on actual incidents of frauds that occur in our nation and affect children' lives by corrupting school boards. The movie follows the journey of a young girl brought up by a progressive father in rural India, who is determined to educate his daughter up to and including metric. The movie opens in a small Indian town 200 kilometers outside of Banaras, where the residents have not yet established societal acceptability of women going to school.
