Janki lives a poor lifestyle with her mother and father in a small village. She falls in love with a school teacher named Ramcharan and both decide to get married. However Ramchanran’s family isn’t very happy with the alliance as she cannot pay any dowry. The wedding however takes place and they are thrown out of their old house. The couple then go to stay with his friend Ashok, who tries to molest Janki but Ramcharan rescues her. Soon Janki gives birth to a bbay girl. One day a fight breaks out between Ashok and Ramcharanand the latter gets badly injured on his head which leads him to get paralyzed. Janki then takes him to Bombay for treatment. There she works as a labourer and pays for the doctors fees. The doctor then tells her the treatment will cost a lot of money, which makes Janki ask her employer. He is ready to pay all the money provided she agrees to sleep with him. She refuses and leaves. Soon Ramcharan gets killed in a confrontation with her employer. Janki and her daughter are now helpless and left to fend for themselves when a gangster named Girdharilal helps her. However he has a sinister plan of his own.

 

The movie is directed by Haresh Shah and produced by Vinod Shah. The music is composed by Anand Milind and the lyrics are written by Anand Bakshi. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Rekha, Raza Murad,Prem Chopra,Harish Patel,Parikshit Sahani,Sahila Chhadha,Ram Mohan,Javed Khan,Ghanshyam, Deepika Deshpande,Himani Shivpuri, Rohini Hattagadi and Sulbha Deshpande.
