After escaping an ISI terrorist camp in Afghanistan, agent Vinod, played by Saif Ali Khan comes to St. Petersburg to find out what ‘242’ is as asked by his boss Nawaz. He goes to a nightclub and interrogates the owner Abu Nazer, played by Ram Kapoor, who tells him that Freddie Khambatta is going to smuggle millions into Morocco. Before Abu’s men capture Vinod he escapes and goes to Morocco.
Vinod finds out that Freddie is a flight steward and takes his name and meets a mafia don Kazan and his personal doctor Ruby, played by Kareena Kapoor. She injects a drug into Vinod and forces him to speak the truth. He tells them he’s a RAW agent and he killed Nazer but convinces them he is Freddie Khambatta. He hacks Kazan’s phone and gets vital information about a MI6 agent. Meanwhile he gets closer to Ruby and learns her real name is Parveen from Pakistan who was involved in a bomb blast. He then goes to an auction where he learns that ‘242’ is a detonator for a nuclear device hidden inside a book.
Kazan gets the book by bidding and gives it to colonel and password protects it. Parveen and Vinod now join forces and decide to capture the colonel and take away the bomb before any more destruction takes place. Later Parveen is shot and dies after she gives Vinod the password for the detonator.
The movie is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan. The music is compose by Pritam.
