Subbalaxmi runs a well known brothel in the city. There men are welcome and women are born to be courtesans. When a young courtesan named Sangeeta gives birth to a baby girl, all are thrilled. They name her Chandra and she is the light o ftheir life. Soon Chandra and her mother re-locate to another place. Things start getting complicated when a grown up Chandra fall sin love with her neighbor Kunal. They both plan to marry and she meets their family. When his family comes to know her real identity, they refuse to associate with them and their marriage seems impossible. The film is directed by Esmayeel Shroff and produced by Sibte Hassan Rizvi. The music is composed by Khayyam. The star cast includes Shammi Kapoor,Kunal Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, Shashikala, Nanda, Dev Vema, Ashalata and Soni Razdan
