Akira, played by Sonakshi Sinha has seen crime and violence at a very young age. As a kid she has witnessed a group of goons throw acid on a young woman’s face. She reports them to the police and in turn gets slashed in the face with their revenge. They try and throw acid on her too but she fights back and the acid falls on one of the men and she gets sent to a remand home.
Few years later Akira has grown up to be a fearless woman and starts going to college. Few students try to bully her but soon regret it. ACP Rane, played by Anurag Kashyap beats up a college professor and the students go and report it to the Commissioner but to no avail. Akira meanwhile hands over a signed petition to the commissioner.
Later Rane murders a man and confesses it to his girlfriend Maya, played by Raai Laxmi who records it and shows it to her friends. He learns about it and kills her. Rabiya, played by Konkana Sen Sharma handles the case and finds out that Maya is murdered and didn’t commit suicide. Akira finds Maya’s recordings and Rane’s men get a hold of her. They take her to a mental asylum and give her shocks and injections to prove she’s unstable. She gets released after a few months and teaches challenged kids.
