Yusuf (Prem Nazir) and Balu (Madhu) are close buddies. They are fishers by trade. A coast guard officer named Mohan (Soman) learns that Veerendran (Jose Prakash) is the brains behind the smuggling operations that take place in the harbor and manages to capture him in the act. However, Veerendran gets away and murders Mohan. Soon after giving birth to their son, Mohan's wife dies. Due to his lack of options, Balu decides to leave his grandson Anand (Mammootty) in the care of his close friend Yusuf. Anand grows up to be a fine young man and falls in love with Daisy (Shobana), while Balu becomes a very wealthy guy. In the meantime, Veerendran makes the decision to kill Balu and his family after learning that he is Mohan's father. View the film
