Prof. Ramchandra, played by Manoj Bajpayee teaches Marathi and heads the Classical Modern Indian Languages faculty at the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University. He is completely devoted to his work and is well respected among his subordinates. His reputation and hard work towards his students is commendable.
Life takes a dreadful turn when Ramchandra is suspended from his services on the grounds of morality. He is also fatefully sacked from being the Reader and Chair of Modern Indian Languages. Ramchandran’s privacy was invaded when a TV walked in on him and filmed him having intercourse with a rickshaw driver. This creates a huge uproar among the college faculty and he is unanimity sacked from all services.
A young journalist, Deepu, played by Rajkummar Rao is sensitive towards him and decides to help him in his battle in court. Eventually after a long and tiring battle the court rules in Ramchandra’s favour and his suspension is revoked but before he resumes work, sadly, he is found dead.
