Subhash is an honest and hard working man working at the mill of Lal and partners. The latter are greedy and will go to any extent to make profit at the expense of their poor workers. Due to his stingy paying habits, the workers decide to go on an indefinite strike. This makes no difference to Lal who continues his business as usual. Subhash who lives with his wife and small child struggle to make ends meet due to lack of money. Left with no other choice, his wife is forced to beg on the streets. One day the company union leader is fatally wounded and before dying gives Subhash a key. The key leads Subhash to a mosque that contains a tape which has the recoding of Lal threatening the union leader. Subhash takes the tape and hides it in a pawn shop. Meanwhile Lal’s men smell foul play and beat up Subhash but he does not reveal anything. They then get him arrested on false charges. His wife then takes help from advocate Ashok, who tries to uncover the truth, but ends up getting entangled in the deceit himself. The film is directed by Amjad Khan and produced by Shehly Khan and Vinay Sinha. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Shatrughan Sinha, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Imtiaz Khan, Mazhar Khan, Gurbachan Singh, Kader Khan and Kalpana Iyer.
