Amrit is an old man living at the mercy of his only son and daughter-in-law, while Kamla lives with her respective son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter Sunita. Both the elderly are ill-treated by their children. Kamla only gets affection from her granddaughter. Amrit usually gets his grandson to the park and there he meets Kamla and comes to know that her plight is as bad as his. One day Kamla gets into a bad accident while picking Sunita up from school. Amrit meanwhile picks Sunita and take her to his house. Kamla is then humiliated by her daughter-in-law and Amrit feels bad for her.
One day when Kamla and Amrit are watching TV together in his house, his son comes and angrily throws him out of the house. This changes their perspective about their children and they decide to spend the rest of their old age together. The film is directed by Mohan Kumar and produced by Mohan Kumar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Smita Patil, Aruna Irani, Shafi Inamder, Satish Shah, Birbal, Pradeep Saxena, Daljit Kaur, Rajesh Puri, Ashutosh, Guddu, Sujit Kumar, Shashi Puri, Anita Kanwar and Zarina Wahab.
