Jan Nisar Khan is an honest and hard working forest officer. He lives with his wife and daughter. One day he catches some men cutting sandal wood trees illegally and challenges them. A fight ensues and Jan Nisar accidentally kills one of the men named Ram Gupta. Khan is then convicted of the murder and sent to 20 years in prison. His wife is shocked at the turn of events and kills herself along with her daughter. A distraught Khan is released after 20 years and has no will to live but he meets a young man named Vijay who is also looking to avenge his families death. Khan decides to help him and comes to know that both their enemies are the same. Later Khan is shocked to know that Ram Singh is still alive and plans to kill him in the very same courtroom where he was convicted. Meanwhile Vijay’s sister Durga joins the police department merely to take revenge. Her brother wants to kill all the culprits himself. The film is directed by T Rama Rao and produced by A Purnachandra Rao. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Madhavi, Rajnikanth, Hema Malini, Reena Roy, Pran, Prem Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, Madan Puri, Amrish Puri and Amitabh Bachchan.
