Aarti works as a personal assistant to the lecherous Jolly. She lives with her brother Sanjay and her mother. Her colleague Vijay is in love with her but unable to express himself. He one day rescues her from the crutches of Jolly. During a stage performance, Vijay’s friend Ravi sees Aarti dancing and instantly falls in love with her. He wastes no time and asks her mother for her hand in marriage. The engagement takes place and all is well until Jolly finds a chance and molests Aarti. She is traumatized by it. When Ravi’s parents find out, they cancel the wedding.
Aarti then realizes that Vijay had been in love with her and offers to marry her, inspite of opposition from his parents. Meanwhile her brother Sanjay finds out the horrible turn of events and tries to kill Jolly but unfortunately gets killed in the process. Aarti now swears revenge and kills Jolly. She is arrested and a court hearing will give her the final verdict. The film is directed by Rajesh Seth and produced by Gurdip Singh. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the story is written by Salim Khan. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Raj Babbar, Smita Patil, Shakti Kapoor, Iftekar, Alankar Joshi, Satyendra Kapoor, Dina Pathak, Pradeep Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Bindu and Prema Narayan.
