Ramesh works in the city at a well-known company. His marriage is planned with his childhood sweetheart Gauri and he is happy about it. Gauri however is naïve and childish even though she is grown up. Bijli is a beautiful and mature village girl who also loves Ramesh but he agrees to marry Gauri. After the wedding takes place he realizes that Gauri is carefree and childlike she does not know how to pleasure her husband.When Bijli finds this our she seduces him and he is helplessly attracted to her. Soon Ramesh and Bijli start having physical relations. One day Gauri sees them together and she realizes her mistake. But it is too late as he has already left for the city. Soon Bijli follows him there and they start living as husband and wife. Bijli is now growing bored of Ramesh as he doesn’t spend enough money on her. She then meets Amit who works at a hotel and starts seeing him. Finding this out Ramesh throws Bijli out of his house. Soon he realizes his mistake and reunites with Gauri.
The film is directed by Kashinath and produced by R A Singh. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan. The star cast includes Shekhar Suman, Sujit Kumar, Padmini Kolhapure, Richa Sharma, Paintal, Jugnu, Manmauji, Parveen Sood, Devnath Singh, Jayant, Rakesh Roshan, Padma Khanna and Seema Deo.
