Apnapan is a 1977 drama film directed and produced by J. Om Prakash under the banner Filmyug Pvt Ltd Banner. Starring Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra, Reena Roy, Sulakshana Pandit in the lead roles.
Kamini (Reena Roy) an over ambitious girl who wants to be a rich woman soon abandons her husband Anil Mehra(Jeetendra) and their child Prakash to pursue her dream to become a model and a rich woman. Few years later Anil finds Radhika (Sulakshana Pandit) who is genuinely caring and loving. He marries and she accepts Prakash as her own child whole heartedly. During their visit with the son at some outstation holiday they come across Kamini. She and Radhika become friends and she soon learns that Radhika is Anil Mehra’s wife and the little boy who is now about 6 years old is her son Prakash.. Her heart melts and longs to be the mother again. Alas for wealth she has married a much older man who is not interested in children nor a family life. She regrets her action of abandoning her child and her husband.
However, when the child Prakash meets with an accident and needs blood, she being the biological mother her blood group matched with the child. Knowing she cannot be his mother again, she moves ahead but is happy she has been able to save her son and sadly parts away. The couple Anil Mehra, Radhika and their son Prakash return home happily.
