"Inga Naan Thaan Kingu" is an action comedy film in Tamil, written and directed by Anand Narayan, and featuring Santhanam, Priyalaya, and Thambi Ramaiah. The movie is about “Vetrivel” (Santhanam), a matchmaker and an orphan who aspires to become rich overnight. He marries “Thenmozhi”, the daughter of the Rathnapuri Zamindar, hoping to marry into money, but finds out that the family is broke and in debt. Having no choice but to bring them to his one-room apartment, Vetri grapples with his playfully troublesome father-in-law and brother-in-law, who wreak havoc and even get him fired.
Meanwhile, in Bombay, a terrorist leader named “Baski”, who looks exactly like Vetri’s ex-boss “Amalraj”, plans a deadly attack in Chennai. By a twist of fate, Vetri’s in-laws mistake Baski for Amalraj and bring him home. Chaos ensues when Baski is accidentally killed, leaving Vetri and his family scrambling to dispose of the body. Things become complicated again when they discover that Baski was a wanted terrorist with a ₹50 lakh bounty on his head.
Vetri and his family, adamant on earning the bounty, try to retrieve Baski's dead body from the hospital morgue. At the same time, Baski's terrorist organization kidnaps the actual Amalraj, mistaking him for their leader. As Vetri gets entangled in a rescue mission, he uncovers a shocking truth: the police commissioner is working with the terrorists.
“Inga Naan Thaan Kingu” is a combination of action, comedy, and suspenseful turns. Santhanam's timing for laughs is impeccable, and the movie keeps viewers interested with its quick-witted action and slapstick misunderstandings. Though a few scenes do seem exaggerated, the energetic script keeps it an enjoyable experience. The movie reaches a high point with Vetri outwitting the terrorists, saving the city, and finally getting his hard-earned reward.
