Jai, played by Sidhart Malhotra has commitment phobia. He’s in love with his childhood sweetheart Diya, played by Katrina Kaif but doesn’t think of marriage at all. The main aim of this Math professor is to acquire a fellowship at the Cambridge University. Diya on the other hand, longs to get married to Jai and live happily ever after. They discuss marriage and after some reluctance Jai agrees. However, negative thoughts of the seven vows and many rituals start engulfing his mind and he backs out. This breaks Diya’s heart and she walks away sad.
A drunken Jai passes out and on waking up he finds himself in Thailand, apparently on his honeymoon with Diya. He has no recollection of his marriage however. He then wakes up the next day and finds himself in Cambridge driving Diya to the hospital whose about to deliver their baby. He soon realizes that he has no control on the time travel he’s experiencing.
Next he wakes up to find it’s been eighteen years since he’s working as a professor at Cambridge University but he’s divorced with Diya. He wakes up the next day again in the past a few years back and still married to Diya. He goes to work and instead of attending his wife’s exhibition, he pacifies a friend who going through a break-up. That’s when he realizes the reason for his breakup. He takes the help of a pandit and goes back in time and sets things right.
Finally he works hard and gives a lot of time and love to Diya and they get married. Baar Baar Dekho is directed by Nitya Mehra and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The music is composed by Amaal Mallik, Arko, Badshah, Jasleen Royal, Bilal Saeed and Prem Hardeep.
