Dwarka Prasad is a wealthy man and has a daughter Asha and son Vijay. One day his gardener finds a small child abandoned on the streets and adopts her. He names the little girl Jyoti. Vijay, Asha and Jyoti grow up together. Meanwhile another daughter of Dwarka named Seema has been kidnapped and is missing. She is later found to be with a goon named Anil and is now pregnant. She gives birth to a boy. Soon enough Jyoti and Vijay fall in love. However Dwarka Prasad is against their union and wants his son to marry elsewhere.
The film is directed by Kalpataru and produced by Sultana Numani. The music is composed by LaxmikantPyarelal and the lyrics are written by MajroohSultanpuri. The story and screenplay is written by K B Pathak. The star cast includes Raj Babbar, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Juneja,Gulshan Grover,Kader Khan,Shafi Inamdar,Anjana Mumtaz, Shreeram Lagu, Satyen Kappu and Shraddha Verma.
