Misha, played by Yami Gautam and her son both fall victims to bank robbers Liak, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Harman, played by Vinay Pathak who shoot Misha and her son falls from the moving car. They both succumb to their injuries and die in the hospital. Raghav, played by Varun Dhawan, miserable by his wife and son’s death vows to take revenge.
While Liak gets sentenced to 20 years in prison he does not divulge Harman’s name. Raghav asks Janki, played by Huma Qureshi who is a prostitute and Liak’s girlfriend but gets no response. Raghav goes into exile only to emerge after a few years on learning that Liak is terminally ill and facilitates his release on condition he gives the name of his partner in crime. He goes after Harman, killing him and his wife Kanchan, played by Radhika Apte. Liak learns of their death and goes to Raghav’s house to get his money but Raghav is already there waiting for him and beats him. He confesses that it was he not Harman who killed his wife and son in panic unlike Raghav who did it premeditated. Liak takes his blame for Harman and his wife’s murder and dies in jail of cancer.
