Vijay, played by by Nishan lives in the village of Badlapur that is extensively affected by draught. His father has protested and pleaded with the government for help with water in their village but to no avail. Thus left with no choice he threatens with self-immolation. Finally getting no reply Vijay’s father sets himself ablaze in front of the entire village to set an example and open the eyes of the government.
Unfortunately, Vijay’s father’s massive sacrifice goes unnoticed and not a thing is done about it. A grief struck Vijay and his family go on with their lives giving up all hope of the impotent government and its works. Years later, Vijay grows up and becomes a Kabaddi player. He takes part in a match and hopes winning it will bring a change and hope for his village of Badlapur.
During the end of the match Vijay gets severely injured and punctures his ribs and dies on the spot but wins the match non the less. The government finally starts irrigation in their village. The movie is directed by Shailesh Verma and produced by Satish Pillangwad. The music is composed by Sameer Anjaan, Shamir Tandon, Sachin Gupta and Raju Sardar.
