Baghban a 2003 film is directed by Ravi Chopra featuring Amitabh Bachchan , Hema Malini in lead roles besides Salman Khan, Mahima Chaudhary, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Lilette Dubey, Aman Verma, Samir Soni, Saahil Chadha, Nasir Khan, Suman Ranganathan as supporting star cast in pivotal roles.
The story revolves around the retired parents and their four sons. Raj (Amitabh Bachchan) , a banker who retires and finds himself with no savings which he spent all on his four children . There comes a time when the four kids have to take care of their parents. The four children do not want to take the responsibility of their old parents and decide to separate them.Pooja and Raj ( Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan) Between the four children they decide to keep each of the parents for 6 months . Will the sons arrangement persist with their cruel heartless arrangement? While the sons are ruthless, their adopted son Alok (Salman Khan) whom Raj had provided him money for his education and brought him up like his own son to enable him to stand on his feet. Alok and his wife Arpita (Mahima Chaudhry) respect, worship and love Raj and Pooja like their own parents.
During their separation period for the six months Raj starts writing his book called it the Baghban which is published. The book gets so popular that he starts receiving a lot of money and is the best seller. He is honored for the book. The money that he receives is sufficient for them to manage their old age together without the help from their sons. The sons realize their mistake and ask for forgiveness. A family drama that touched a million lives.
