Kanchan is brought up in a middle class family and loses her mother at a young age. She is pampered by her father and aunt due to which she turns out to be a total tomboy. One day she has a tiff with a boy from across the river named Raghunath and both fall in love. He is however brought up in a wealthy family and his mother has paid a huge dowry for her daughter. With Raghunath’s marriage she hopes to get it all back from his bride’s family. She is against the marriage of Kanchan and Raghunath but they still insist and get married. His mother is upset when she brings in a small amount as dowry. Her friend Shanti eggs her on to torture Kanchan. One day however things turn for the worse when Raghunath looses his eyesight in an accident and his sister becomes a widow. The film is directed by Kantilal Dave and the music is composed by Suresh Kumar. The star cast includes Rajiv, Supriya Pathak, Dulari, Tanuja and Dinesh Hingoo.
