Kavita lives with her widower dad Rai Bahadur, in a heavily mortgaged mansion. They used to be very wealthy at one point in their lives but now all their riches are gone and they live a hand to mouth existence. Kavita is in love with Sunil who is an advocate but takes heavily to alcohol and has had no success in his career. This is the reason her father disapproves of him. Soon the Shrivastav family wants to get their younger son Vimal married to Kavita as they think that Rai’s family is still well to do. Soon They arrange their wedding and they settle into marital bliss. A few months later however, Vimal’s brother Jaswant, who is a advocate comes to inform Rai that Kavita has been missing. Soon they discover her body and it is declared that she has committed suicide. Rai Bahadur is devastated and cannot believe that Kavita could have killed herself. There is more than meets the eye.
