Brought up in a wealthy household to affluent parents, Shwetambari, played by Urmila Matondkar, studies at the city University. She has great dreams to study further, but one day she falls in love with Soham, played by Ashmit Patel, who is from a lower caste. He is a mystic and one day after his meditation session comes to the realization that there is nothing wrong in falling in love with someone from the upper caste Brahmin family. Shwetambari’s family is against the union at first and later seems to accept their love. The society ostracizes the family for letting their daughter marry a lower caste and the pressure keeps mounting.

Just before their wedding is to take place, Shwetambari’s mother gets Soham murdered. A horrified and depressed Shwetambari decides to leave her parent’s home and go away never to see them again. After 17 years, she has now become a religious scholar and a philosopher. She hears of her dying father but is reluctant to go see him in her hometown of Varanasi. She is torn between keeping the family’s name away from her past liaisons and seeing her father the last time.

The movie is directed by Pankaj Parashar and produced by L.C Singh. The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
