Band Baaja Barat is a 2010 Bollywood romcom helmed by debutant Maneesh Sharma produced by Yash Raj Films. The Film marked the debut of actor Ranveer Singh and had Anushka Sharma in the lead. The movie was first of its kind of a love story set amidst a marriage narrating the story of wedding planners.
Band Baaja Barat begins off by showing the accidental meeting up of the jobless Ranveer Singh with the charismatic wedding planner assistant played by Anushka Sharma over a marriage. The duo then decides to start their own marriage planner business on a condition that they will work as two professionals and not fall in love with each other. However fate takes a different turn of events and after doing many low key projects together they land in major gig but shortly start having a tough time facing each other having sex after being drunk one night. From there the movie goes on to narrate their efforts to recoup their feelings for each other’s in between a big fat wedding function.
The movie fetched highly positive word of mouth from the critics and was one of the highest rated romcom’s of the recent times and also emerged with good theatrical run and was a through entertainer film with plenty of peppy songs roped in.
